Superfoods That Make You Slim (Part One)

When we decide we want to lose weight, most of us think about strict dieting and rigorous exercise programs, the thought of loss and major effort can have the weight loss scenario finished before it's even started. There are many different ways we can help ourselves to lose those unwanted pounds without any major effort, strict diets or rigorous exercise programs.

In previous articles I have spoken about moving more, being aware of our emotional eating habits and motivation, things that help effortless weight loss. I know we all need as much help as we can get when we start thinking about losing weight, so I thought I'd share some interesting information I've stumbled upon.

What about eating yourself slim? sounds a bit strange I know but I have found out about some amazing foods that can help you shed those pounds and here's just a few of them - they may surprise you. I will write more in other articles or post them to my website.

Eggs - Yes eggs! According to a fantastic study from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. Having an egg for breakfast (yolks and whites) will not harm your diet, they can actually help you to lose inches. "Egg protein is filling, so you eat less later in the day" says David Grotto, RD, author of 101 foods that could safe your life (Bantam)

Avocado - These are known and seen to be fattening foods because of their high fat content (29 grams) but don't let this put you off, it is this 29 grams that make it a super food - the mono unsaturated fat it contains is good for you as it helps you to feel fuller for longer - but do watch your portion size.

Olive Oil - This, like avocado contains healthy fat that increases the feeling of feeling full quicker and tames your appetite but it also has anti inflammatory properties, chronic inflammation in the body is linked to metabolic syndrome.

Chilli - These help to increase your body's metabolism and cause the body to burn extra calories for up to 20 minutes chilli have been consumed. Also eating hot and spicy foods will slow down your eating process giving your body plenty of time to let you know when it is full.

As I said before these are just a few super foods and I will endevour to post more of them in other articles or on my website.

Anything that is natural, healthy and makes the weight loss journey easier, the goals come quicker and the results last longer has got to be worth looking at and even trying, wouldn't you say? These are a healthy addition to your weight loss plan and you of course don't have to try all of them - just the ones you want to!
